About LD-ADHD Center of Hawaii
The LD-ADHD Center of Hawaii has been helping families in Hawaii for nearly 20 years. Dr. Karen Tyson purchased the practice in 2009 from her mentor, continuing the legacy of assisting Hawaii’s keiki. Our focus is to provide Neuropsychological evaluations along with other services to children and young adults with learning differences. The LD-ADHD Center has a dedicated team of highly skilled psychologists who dedicate their professional skills to understanding learning disabilities, autism, attention, speech and auditory processing disorders and emotional and trauma concerns. The LD Center offers the most comprehensive and up to date evaluations to answer the most difficult questions about a child’s neurological presentation and concerns.
About Dr. Karen Tyson
Dr. Karen Tyson is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist and the Chief Clinical Psychologist at the LD-ADHD Center of Hawaii. She is a nationally recognized expert in the area of learning disabilities and special education law and advocacy. A graduate of the Wrightslaw Special Education Advocacy program at the William and Mary School of Law she is called upon to lecture and testify in court for learning-disabled students across the United States.
Dr. Tyson’s clinic, the LD-ADHD Center of Hawaii has multiple offices on Oahu and also on the Big Island. She is an approved APPIC training site for graduate students pursuing their doctorate in clinical psychology and mentors and trains students across Hawaii. She specializes in learning disabilities, ADHD and Autism and conducts exhaustive neuropsychological evaluations to assist families and schools in better understanding a child’s strengths and deficits. She is also an active researcher; current research studies include gender differences in girls with autism as well as a reverse longitudinal study of the effects of Pitocin on the brain and possible correlations with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The process for setting up your initial appointment is easy!

2. Mail, FAX, or drop off the form at our office.

3. We will call you once we receive the registration packet to set up your intake appointment.
4. In most cases you will be provided several dates for testing at the end of your intake appointment.
5. During your review you will go over the report that was generated from testing. This will also provide you an opportunity to ask any questions.
